This came at a time when SaaS ERP solutions were still quite rare and just beginning to gain acceptance. Since then it has been deployed in more than 3,600 companies in 109 countries. And yet while customers seem very happy with their choice of solutions, in many ways SAP Business ByDesign just doesn\u2019t seem to get any respect.<\/p>\n<p>We often get the comment:\u00a0<strong><em>\u201cit would be nice to get SAP but we just couldn\u2019t afford it. \u00a0I don\u2019t think our business is big enough\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most people we talk to about SAP, have a perception that it was \u201ctoo big\u201d and \u201ctoo complex\u201d for a business of their size and turnover.<\/p>\n<p>I think the assumption comes from the fact that SAP is a global software giant.\u00a0 Unrivalled by any other software provider and boasting some of the world\u2019s largest companies on their client list, people just to the conclusion that SAP software is just for big business.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-8252\" src=\"https:\/\/cofficient.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/2016-blog-SAP-SME-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>Here\u2019s a stat which might surprise you:\u00a0 85% of SAP\u2019s 350,000 customer base are SMEs.<\/p>\n<p>Many of these customers use the entry level SAP B1 (Business One).\u00a0 Also, SAP\u2019s cloud offering &#8211; Business ByDesign &#8211; is perfect for midsized businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Here are 5 misconceptions about SAP Business ByDesign and why it\u2019s time to reconsider:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>It\u2019s NOT too big<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>What does \u201cbig\u201d mean exactly in this context?<\/li>\n<li>Is it the SAP <em>company<\/em> which is too big?<\/li>\n<li>Is it the software functionality (more on that below)?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Challenge yourself a bit on a) why you think it is big and b) why you think that matters.\u00a0 It makes sense to use a trusted and well established brand to provision your business software.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a bit like using an Apple iPhone.\u00a0 Most people who have an Apple device only use 20% of the functionality.\u00a0 They will make calls, surf the internet and send messages through a variety of apps.\u00a0 They have probably never used the compass or the spirit level.\u00a0 \u00a0But just because you only make and take calls, doesn\u2019t mean you are entitled to only use a Nokia 3310.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>It\u2019s NOT too expensive<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Most people are surprised to hear that SAP Business ByDesign is price comparable with most other mid-market software.\u00a0 The only caveat is that you have to have a minimum of 20 users.\u00a0 Some users are more expensive than others (Enterprise users cost the most) but with the right configuration you can get your 20 users for less than \u00a320k.\u00a0 That rivals the likes of Salesforce and NetSuite.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike other software, with SAP you get access to all the features and functions with SAP Business ByDesign, you don\u2019t need to build up the configuration of the software \u2013 just the users.\u00a0 That means there are no sneaky hidden costs for things like multi-company functionality or advanced features.\u00a0 Also, SAP ByD pricing includes free support.\u00a0\u00a0 If you are going through a software search and select, why not just get a quote?\u00a0 Nothing ventured, nothing gained.\u00a0 I\u2019m willing to bet you\u2019ll be pleasantly surprised.<\/p>\n<p>For more about how much SAP Business ByDesign costs click <a href=\"https:\/\/cofficient.co.uk\/how-much-does-sap-business-bydesign-cost\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>It has MORE functionality than we need<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>SAP has baked around 40 pre-built end-to-end business best practices into the software.\u00a0 So, yeah;
