COFFICIENT ENCOURAGING BUSINESSES TO TAKE PART IN THE RUCKSACK APPEAL THIS SEASON

Innovation Centre company Cofficient are taking part in the Simon Scotland Rucksack and Handbag Appeal this year and are hoping other generous Park businesses will get involved.

Simon Community Scotland support people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and work with them to combat the causes and effects.

The charity’s street team work seven days a week supporting people who are sleeping rough and living on the streets, as well as assisting 120 people in supported accommodation.

The rucksack and handbag appeal is designed to help people whilst they are finding a safe place to live and Cofficient is hoping to fill as many bags as possible on Friday, 2nd December.

A table will be set up in the Innovation Centre for people to leave their kind donations which will then be delivered to the charity’s HQ.

Items wanted include sleeping bags, new underwear, socks, jumpers, hats, scarves, gloves, fleece, foil blankets, cereal bars, tinned food (with ring pull), toiletries including shampoo, toothpaste, soap, hairbrush, chocolate and sanitary products.

Emma Stewart, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Simon Community Scotland are doing a great job of keeping the homeless community (and those at risk of homelessness) safe, warm and well over the cold winter period. This is the time of year when people think about extending a charitable hand to help those less fortunate than themselves. Your gift could help feed, clothe or keep warm, a homeless person who often owns nothing more than the clothes on their back.”
